I can guarantee the same quality work as a large proofreading service (after all, I worked for one and had to pass a series of complex exams before being hired) but with more personal attention at a significantly lower price. And while most services charge a premium for same-day turnaround, I do not believe in that. If my schedule allows me to start your project promptly and return it to you ahead of your deadline, that's precisely what will happen. I will keep you updated on the status of your job, and your materials will be consistent from one project to the next because the same person (me) will be editing all your work.

ABOUT ME
I have always been passionate about spelling, grammar, and writing. You could even say proofreading is in my blood. My father worked as a typesetter/proofreader for various newspapers in Manhattan, back in the days of metal printing plates. I learned the value of perfection in writing at a very young age.

I studied journalism in high school, and worked my way up from reporter to copy editor to editor in chief of the school newspaper. After earning my BA in English from Cornell University, I held a variety of detail-oriented jobs, ranging from word processor to office manager. I have worked as a reporter or copy editor for almost every newspaper in Southern NH.
I most recently spent two and a half years as a contractor for a 24/7/365 online proofreading service, editing documents for Fortune 500 companies, prominent law firms, nonprofits, and clients in fields as diverse as high tech, politics, higher education, finance, and health care. I have proofread everything from press releases and blog posts to product catalogs, advertising copy, and solicitations for annual fundraisers.

People in my network who were aware of my skills and depth of experience began to contact me to handle their proofreading needs, so I decided to open my own business to better serve them and to take control of my destiny.

By the time I had completed the descriptive writing, considered the topics, selected the photos, and made changes to reflect the shifting nature of our massage practice for a major website redesign, I just couldn't see the errors anymore. I knew that Irene had started her own proofreading service and had the education and experience to make her the perfect person to be my eyes on the final read-through.
Boy, after getting the list of suggested changes, errors and inconsistencies, I was so happy to have engaged her. The web designer was surprised because she thought she had caught most of the format errors. So, thanks to Irene, the website is nearly perfect. We went ahead and launched on schedule because, even with a few additional changes to be made by me, it was so much better than the old website.
